Drawing Linkin Parks’s Chester Bennington

chester be 1.jpg

Hello My friends, i know it’s long since the last time i posted something, my apologies. Some few days ago we lost a legend, icon, role model and a truly inspirational musician. Chester Bennington. I was shocked to hear the sad news since i listen to their music like every day. One of the thing that was unique with Chester was his unique voice, screams, and how his voice blended in with Mike Shinonda’s was just tremendous.

My favorite songs is “In the end” and “Lost in the echo”. Why?

In the end: Personally, my interpretation for this song is that the journey is what matters the most than the destination, so we should live our lives to the fullest and remember that ever single day in our lives counts.

Lost in the echo: my interpretation for this song is just letting go. In life we settle on past events that don’t make us but breaks us instead, for instance, we lose our loved ones, relationships fails, pain, but none of them ever wants us to settle on the pain of losing them but instead just move on. And i think that’s why the people in the music video are screaming to them, maybe they are upset,

If you listen to most of their songs, they are subtle, artistic, creative with a deeper meaning, that’s what i love the most about Linkin Park.

So this drawing was to give my last respect to Chester Bennington. To all the Linkin Park band members and the family and friends, I salute you.

The full drawing video is on my YouTube channel

Approach to creating realistic colored pencil drawings

This is the second largest note in Kenya after 1000 shilling note. The drawing took me approximately 4 hrs and 98% of the time was spent on just the details. I believe that for one to achieve great realism in hyper realistic or photo realistic drawings, one should pay a lot of attention on the details no matter how tiny they are, also light and shadow is quite an important factor. Knowing where your light is coming from helps a lot in creating realistic drawings. It helps one put the light and shadows in the right place and also lighten up small details like on the 500 shilling note, you can see how those small folds are standing out….

Contrast too is an important factor that many realistic artists don’t put much focus on, this can be achieved by mixing colored pencils with markers or paints to increase the contrasts because i believe they have a very high contrast.

Watch me draw that 500 shilling note on my YouTube Channel and let me know what you think on the comments.

Thank you see you soon!!!!

Emmy Kalia

Here is an amazing page where artists can learn various tutorials on how to improve in their drawings. Personally i enjoy watching her as she draws, and i have gained some knowledge from her YouTube channel.

Drawing Donald Trump

I did this drawing on may last year and as he becomes the president, thought it would be cool if i post it again.

Owls drawing TBT

Can’t forget how owls used to and still my favorite birds. I used graphite pencils with cross, stippling and shading type of rendering.

Killer whales invasion

Did you watch my painting killer whales invasion on YouTube?

Killer whale invasion

When it comes to painting, i love using Killer whales as my subject and just one but a school of them. This is a surreal, fantasy kind of painting whereby it depicts an invasion of killer whales. I also love the nebula, of course because of it’s beauty and some few shining stars. I also did this painting as a 1000subs special to celebrate all those who always tune into my channel to watch my videos.

This is a watercolor on an embossed paper. Although i wouldn’t recommend much using embossed paper since it gets really wet when applying washes.

Also the full painting is available on my YouTube channel

See you soon.
